Understanding the Tabs

Explanation of the different tabs within your project.

Updated over 2 months ago

The complete onboarding process consists of seven distinct phases. Each phase is briefly explained below and has its own tab in the portal.

The Total view

The Total view displays the onboarding status of each asset in the project. This overview is divided into two sections: assets requiring follow-up action from the customer and assets with pending actions from Samotics.

Asset information

During this phase, you can add asset information to the portal, which will be evaluated by our Asset Reliability Specialists.

To start, click the Add New button to add a new asset to the project.

You will then be asked to add some important information about the asset.

Notice Please ensure that all fields are filled in accurately, as they are essential for the onboarding phase and for the monitoring of the asset at a later stage.

Once all necessary fields are filled in, you can submit the asset for review. Alternatively:

  • You can save the information and return later to edit or add more.

  • You can submit this asset and create another one within the same project. You will be redirected to a blank Add New Asset page.

  • You can submit the information for this asset and duplicate it. This will create a new asset with the same details, and you will be redirected to a pre-filled Add New Asset page, where you will need to update the Unique Asset ID and Asset Name.

After submitting an asset for review, our Asset Reliability Specialists will review the information and either approve or reject the fields. If all fields are approved, the asset moves to the next stage. If a field is rejected, you will need to edit it and resubmit the asset for review.

Technical Assessment

During this phase, our Asset Reliability Specialists assess the suitability of SAM4 for each selected asset. You can view the assets under assessment in the designated tab.

The outcomes are discussed with you during a technical assessment meeting. No further action is required on your part.

Installation information

Here, we kindly ask you to provide the expected installation date in the designated field. After you submit this date, our Technical Onboarding Specialists will proceed with the hardware shipment.

Hardware shipment

Once the hardware is selected, Samotics will ship it to you. As soon as the shipment is dispatched, a tracking link will be available in the Hardware Shipment tab. By clicking on the shipment, you can review the hardware you will be receiving.

Installation

With the hardware onsite, it's time to begin the installation. By clicking the Installation tab, you can find the assets currently undergoing installation.

Clicking on a Location of interest will redirect you to the Installation page. On this page, the installer can complete the process by digitally linking the hardware to assets using a mobile phone and the QR codes available on the hardware. Alternatively, the DAQ serial number can be entered manually, though this may lead to typos. Therefore, we recommend scanning the QR codes or using the SAM4 Setup Tool to link a motor to a DAQ.

Once the hardware is linked to the assets, our Technical Onboarding Specialists will evaluate the incoming measurements.

Troubleshooting

If the hardware is installed incorrectly, our Technical Onboarding Specialist will inform you of the required troubleshooting actions via the Troubleshooting tab.

By clicking on the asset under troubleshooting, you can view more details about the issue. Once the issue is resolved and you've followed the provided guidelines, you can submit the asset for review by clicking the Submit button.

Monitoring

The onboarding journey concludes when the asset reaches the Monitoring stage. Once correctly installed, our Technical Onboarding Specialists will verify the installation, and the assets will become visible in the SAM4 Dashboard.
