If the system is being connected using WiFi, twist and attach the WiFi antenna to the WiFi port of the modem.
Using the modem software, it is possible to connect to an existing WiFi network by filling in the network SSID and password by following the steps below.
Upon delivery, the gateway is set up for a DHCP connection. Using the SAM4 Setup Tool, the gateway can be configured to use a static IP by following the steps below.
Notice The NOVAQ uses the 169.254.1.1/16 network for communication. The gateway's static IP should not be set to an IP in this network.
Additionally, the IP of the client's internet router cannot be part of this network, as this will result in an IP conflict. Contact the support team to check whether it's possible to change the IP for the NOVAQ network.
Notice It is not possible to connect to WiFi networks that require in-browser authentication.
Steps:
To connect the modem to WiFi, go to Network in the left menu, then open Wireless → SSIDs.
From there, either scan for available networks or add one manually.
Enter the required network details and save the configuration.
When the connection is successful, the message WiFi configuration saved will show at the top of the screen. The table below lists connection details.
Notice In specific cases, it may be necessary to add URLs and protocols to an active firewall’s whitelist. Please consult the allow list page for full details.
Troubleshooting:
In case of a failing connection, please check the following:
Is there a firewall in place? If so, are the domains whitelisted?
Is there an HTTP proxy? If so, ensure the setup is done via the SAM4 Setup Tool.
Is the Ethernet cable plugged into the correct Ethernet port?
Is the IP address of the network overlapping with the IP address of the sensors? If so, reach out to Samotics for assistance.
Is there a DHCP or Static IP address used? If so, ensure it's set up correctly via the SAM4 Setup Tool.
Does the WiFi connection work when connected to a laptop?
