Installing Current Sensors

Instructions for placing the current sensors correctly.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

1. Amperage Check

Check if the amperage of the current sensors and the current sensor cables match the electric motor. The image below shows the appropriate sensor size for different amperage ranges.

2. Connecting to the NOVAQ

Plug the connectors of the current sensor cables into the corresponding ports of the NOVAQ and route the sensor cables to the corresponding phase wires of the motor.

Notice Plugging a connector into the wrong port on the NOVAQ is prevented by red insert pieces in the connectors. The current sensor connects only to the

corresponding port on the NOVAQ.

3. Positioning the Sensor

Open the current clamp. Position the current sensor around the phase wire. A sticker on the current sensor shows the correct orientation.

4. Closing the Sensor

Close the current sensor by pressing the clamping mechanism. The current sensor will now hang loosely around the phase wire.

Notice For multiple phase wires, place the sensor around a single wire per phase.
